actually, there is no such breed as a "pit bull" anyway. I would like to point out that while AKC no longer allows certain American Pit bull Terriers to be registered as it did in the 60s and before, The American Staffordshire Terrier IS registered as an American Pit bull Terrier in the UKC kennel club. Some people still feel they are infact the same breed. ( I however do not, nor do I call my dogs " pit bulls")
the term pit bull is simply a term to describe dogs that were used in a pit or once bred for pit activities.. like the Bull Terrier (used in the pit to catch vermin), the Staffordshire Bull terrier..
Those whom continue to shun the American Pit bull Terrier yet applaud the am Staff fail to realize it was out of the "fighting dogs" that the Am Staff was spawned.. and because of the APBT you have the Am Staffs of today
